Lowburn Ferry "The Ferryman" Reserve
Pinot Noir 2010

A passionate expression of the special terroir of Lowburn Ferry Vineyard, crafted only in exceptional vintages. Selected vines were specially managed during the growing season to produce this deep dark purple pinot noir. Aromas include lifted dark fruits of plum and brambles, gamey earthy characters and hints of mocha and spicy oak. The palate features rich ripe cherry with concentrated fine grained tannins and a lingering finish.
Only 100 cases made. Also available in wooden presentation box.

Roger Gibson will be travelling with Grahame to Hong Kong and China later this month to present Lowburn Ferry wines at a huge trade show in Ningbo and to meet with clients in this growing market.

Lowburn Ferry has added another major international award to its tally, bringing home the trophy for Champion Pinot Noir 2011 for Australia and New Zealand - from leading Australian publication, Winestate.
Coming from one of the smallest but brightest stars in the Central Otago wine industry, Lowburn Ferry Home Block Pinot Noir 2010 was the top wine from more than 1500 pinot noirs from throughout Australasia tasted by the Winestate magazine panels over the past year. Trophies were presented to category winners in Auckland and Adelaide last week.

Lowburn Ferry Home Block Pinot Noir 2010 is now released in NZ and Australia. We are also proud to announce the release of our inaugural Reserve wine, Lowburn Ferry "The Ferryman" Pinot Noir 2010 made from selected parcels of grapes in our Home Block vineyard. Very limited - only 100 cases made.

See these latest reviews of Lowburn Ferry wines in Winestate Nov/Dec 2011:

Highly concentrated, single vineyard red from Lowburn, in the Cromwell Basin. Deeply coloured, fleshy, warm and supple, with intense plum, cherry and slight licorice flavours and a lovely, silky texture.

Dark and dense, with highly concentrated dark berry, plum and herb flavours. Rich and velvety, with earthy, savoury notes and the structure to mature well over the long haul.
